Is it about… ME?!

from farm to broadway

I was born in Essexville, Michigan, and grew up on a potato farm. Almost instantly, I had the power to destroy everything that came into my path; carpets, rugs, bottles of milk, you name it, I met each object with a rambunctious enthusiasm that permanently altered it. So, I was enrolled in gymnastics, then dance, then came the holy land to all young destructive artists: the community theater. From my parents point of view, it was the 90’s and play practice, was cheaper than child care.

I became obsessed with everything that happened on a stage--dancing, acting, singing, the occasional rollerblading/acrobatic routine... I simply could not get enough. In fact, my father built me a stage in our basement (which still exists, though covered in storage boxes). So, this was my life until I was 18 and took my obsession to Boston, where I attended The Boston Conservatory to get my BFA in Musical Theatre performance.

So, 4 years of college later, I set off to New York City, to try and make "The Dream" happen. It was in my first month of being in the city that I got an audition for the the revival of West Side Story that was already out on tour. I auditioned, had a callback, then another, and eventually booked the show—cheers!

Cut to a few... several years later, and I've been a part of 2 Broadway shows, several Television shows, a Feature film, 7 Broadway tours, and, countless regional gigs. I've worked with TONY winners, EMMY winners, OSCAR nominees, been around the world performing for hundreds of thousands of people, and somehow found time when time [when not performing] turn my experiences into an ever-changing teaching and choreography career.

Now, I am currently a vacation swing on the 1st National Tour of Beetlejuice the musical… life is unpredictable, so maybe I am in a city near you performing, or teaching, or perhaps I’m on my couch scrolling instagram… the point is, I’m here, and I’m so glad to be so.
